featured gallery – mostly monotone

The featured gallery this week is “mostly monotone” Called this because the works are just that, mostly in monotone. Hints of warmer tones can be seen throughout some images which bring out occasional texture. Take a look at the entire collection at http://www.galleriamancuso.com/mostly-monotone

Art in Public Places Exhibition

A number of my works are currently on display at Pekish Restaurant as part of the Hobsons Bay Council’s “Art in Public Places Exhibitions”  15 works in total plus a number of other prints located around the bar.

Art in Public Places is held in a number of venues around Melbourne’s West and is now in its 7th year.  Please check out the website for locations near you.

The exhibition runs from 8th March to 17th April 2011.

To view my works head to Pekish 1 Mason St, Newport, Melbourne.

new macro collection

I discovered a wonderful new world of macro water photography recently while washing my car.  The fine water spray coming to rest on the roof and windows caught my eye as they glistened in the sun.

Here are some of the results.

I kind of got carried away with the photographing and as a result, the car is still dirty!  All images are available for purchase by clicking on the image and following the prompts or simply by contacting me.

NEW EXHIBITION & SITE UPGRADE

I’ve made a few changes to galleria mancuso.  I’ve totally redesigned the galleries, added many more images and there are more options in the product range and I’d be really interested in your feedback for any improvements.

I’ve also been busy preparing for my latest exhibition which will be held at the Brusnwick Street Gallery, 322 Brunswick st Fitzroy, Vic, Australia between June 18 and July 1.  I’d love to see you there.  Opening night is at 6pm, June 18.  The exhibition is called “essence of 4sight” and is a joint venture with three other great photographers.  Between us there’ll be around fifty works on display, all different but very complimentary.

Limited Edition Photography

I’ve been busy lately producing a limited number of original images which I am now offering for sale.  They come custom framed, matted, numbered and signed and printed on quality Hahnemühle, Baryta Fine Art Paper.  This paper sets the benchmark for high colour depth, large colour gamut and image definition. This paper gives the”wow” factor particularly to black and white prints with an extremely high dmax and the finest grey tones.

These images are offered in a limited edition run, between 20 and 40 prints only, and come with a certificate of authenticity.

If you’re in Melbourne and you wish to view these framed prints, please email me at amancuso@galleriamancuso.com to arrange an appointment.

You can view these limited edition prints here.

2010 puppy calendar added to the list!

I’ve just added a delightful doggie calendar featuring my Cavalier King Charles Spaniels in various stages from pups till now.  Figuring the eldest is not yet three, that’s not a long time but some classic and cute images there.

There are many other themes available as well.  See them here.

Plus a little bit of self promotion along with some bragging rights today.  I have been featured in the Australian Photographic Society’s Online November Newsletter, which goes out to all members of the Australian Photographic Society’s Contemporary Division.  What a huge thrill it was to have been asked and to contribute.  This is the second time I have been featured in an APS article, the first was when asked to contribute to the APS suppliment magazine, Image, some of my recent images of my trip to Beijing.

The images that were included can be seen here.

The article, including pictures and a bit about how I got into photography, plus a pretty bad photo of me.  The full newsletter can be read by clicking the link below.
